Addu’s first tertiary hospital, Addu Equatorial Hospital (HEH) has started to provide some services today.
In an announcement made by Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, doctors from 11 departments of the hospital will now be providing their services at the new tertiary hospital.
The departments stated in this announcement include, general medicine, dental, scanning services, pediatrics, operation, ENT, orthopedics, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and cardiology.
However, some departments still remain at Hithadhoo Regional Hospital including ophthalmology and internal medicine. Moreover, the emergency room will be operating for 24 hours every day according to the hospital.
All departments from Hithadhoo Regional Hospital will be transferred to the new 100-bed tertiary hospital once all works are complete.
